Normal, heavy period on mini pill?

I was put on the mini pill (generic purple pack) to stop significant bleeding on my periods. I started it on day 1 of my last period & so far, all good. No side effects, no spotting etc.

This months period started a few days ago & it’s pretty much as heavy as normal 😭 not quite, I’d say like 85% if my old periods were 100%. But they were so bad that 85% is still a change a max tampon every hour or so. Which is so frustrating & limiting of life.

Will they get lighter over time? I’m happy to keep taking it as it doesn’t bother me in anyway & I do notttt want more babies! But I also want my life back & not to have periods so bad I can’t leave the house very easily for a week! 😭

*oh & my period arrived bang on time this month so it’s not any kinda mid-cycle bleeding!

I think it’s hit and miss with the mini pill. I will get a period like once every few months and other times bleeding for 20 days in a row. Will take a little while for the hormones to balance out.
