Delaying a period on Microgynon

Hello, I have been on microgynon pill for a few months now. My cycle has settled and I normally get the withdrawal bleed on day 5, and I’ve got used to this. I’m meeting up with my other half in a couple of weeks time right in the middle of when my bleed should be, even though it is light. Would it be ok if I took 2 packs back to back to skip this? months? Also, if I did this and then took the seven day break as usual After 21 days, would my cycle still be as reliable as it is now, or will it be out of sync? I like the regularity of knowing when my bleed is about to come.

I fairly regularly run my pill back to back if I have something on. Not had any side effects from it and my GP is aware I do this and never advised against.

If your worried though speak to the pharmacist about it?

Im on microgynon 30.

I always start a new strip on a Monday (I purposely chose to when I first started taking it because it seemed easiest, first day of the week and that).
So my pill free week was obviously Monday to Sunday. When I used to take it 'properly', as in 3 weeks pill then 1 week break for my withdrawal bleed, my bleed usually started on the Friday, so day 5. Saturdays and Sunday's so days 6 and 7 were when most of the bleeding happened, then on the Monday and Tuesday of the following week it stopped and was always completely finished by the Wednesday. (Nothing ever happened on days 1-4 of the pill free week. And I started the new strip on the Monday like it says to even if the bleed is still happening).

However now I take my pills back to back, without my week break. I do this for 6 months. So I take 6 strips in a row without a break. Then I have a break for 1 week, when I have my withdrawal bleed. Then I start again for 6 months. So I only have 2 bleeds a year, or a bleed every 6 months, as the months do not follow the calendar January to December.
It's brilliant and doesn't impact on me at all.

And I know it’s not recommended and I AM NOT suggesting that anyone else does this or tries this, but it works perfect for me so I’ll stick with it.

Can I ask why it’s not recommended? I thought it was now officially ok to run packs together…

I'm on Microgynon and will sometimes run packs together if I don't want a bleed that month, but I do find that can sometimes lead to unpredictable spotting in the middle of the cycle which I don't get if I've had the proper week's break.

It is fine. My nurse knows I take my pill continuously and it was actually suggested to me by a gynaecologist.

I'm lucky that I don't get any spotting either.

My DD takes hers continuously on the advice of the GP. She takes them for heavy, painful periods. GP said if she gets a break through bleed, stop taking for 4 days and then resume wherever she is in the pack.
