Nexplanon- expiring soon!!

Hi, my gp runs a clinic for family planning to which I’ve not got an appt for yet and my implant is on its 3rd year it runs out the end of this month do I need to be worried that I won’t be protected if it’s not replaced within the next couple of weeks? I cannot get pregnant my second child has had health issues and development issues I’m burnt out. Please any advice will be greatly appreciated.

My Nexplanon 3yrs was due to expire March 2020 - due to pandemic i was told i was able to use it for 4 years, 1 year 'off licence' but that i would be protected. They did offer me to take the pill ontop if i felt uneasy about it but i opted not to do that. (i did not fall pregnant!!) I had it replaced March 2021 at a sexual health clinic as my GP was not running family planning appointments.

You should be fine for another year but you could contact a sexual health clinic and see if you can get an appointment / ask the GP to prescribe the pill in the meantime.

Thank you so so much my anxiety has been awful and I’ve been stressing about the risks even told my hubby he’s not to come near me 🙈 poor fella lol. Again thanks. I will be contacting my gp again to see when this clinic will be taking place. X
