Talk to me about contraption!

Not sure if this is in the right place

I started BC when I was around 15 and was on ovranette for about 5 years, and I've also been on yasmin, and also the mini pill. I stopped all BC about 5 years ago when ttc and ended up having ivf to have DD1 (struggled to conceive, investigations showed 'unexplained infertility' on my side). Went back on the pill (can't remember which but the one with a break) but came off it after finding a breast lump (thankfully nothing to worry about, but as I have heard anxiety and read that the pill can increase chances of lumps I frightened myself silly so came off it). Fell pregnant with DD2 within about 2 months. Went on depo after having DD2.

Bleeding was a nightmare off and on at first however I'm now 3 injections in and everything has settled down. My problem is I'm gaining weight, and I just don't know if it's right for me as I've read it shouldn't be used as a long term contraceptive.

Can anyone tell me of any other pills they're on?

The coil isn't an option for me I'm afraid

Thanks!

If the combined pill worked for you could you not try it again?
Maybe a low dose one?
Or if you are getting on OK with the injection could you not try the implant? I never had any other symptoms with it other than the constant bleeding.

A low dose pill could be a good option, especially as you were well settled on one before.

Talk to your GP about breast cancer risks - there is an increase with all hormonal contraception, so back on the pill may not be more worrying than other methods.

(PS - love the DYAC in the thread title!)
