Hi. I’m on Microgynon 30. Finished my second pack last Friday. on day six now and still no withdrawal bleed. After the first pack I had the bleed on day five. is it normal to be waiting this long?. I haven’t had sex since I started and haven’t seen my other half for five months due to the pandemic, (will I’m a few weeks) so know that I’m categorically not pregnant. i partially went on this pill, because I wanted regular periods, as reassurance to. I know it will probably make me paranoid if it has stopped them completely in future. Also what appealed to me about this pill was the regularity that it gave due to withdrawal bleed, but I guess that does not apply to my cycle at the moment how late is late to wait for a bleed? Or is any time in the seven day break including day seven normal? i’m not worried about pregnancy now, just worried thaT the pill is not working for me so not getting the bleed, or that there is something wrong. I have taken all the pills in the pack, not Missed any ramen all at the same time. before this I was Ok with This pill because I had no side-effects whatsoever

My periods were like this on the pill, but I would always end up bleeding before I started the next pack of pills. I did mention it to my gp and she didn’t think it was anything to worry about. I came off it in the end cos I was having mood swings with it.

If you have recently started the pill it does take some time for your cycles to settle. However, I would take a pregnancy test for peace of mind.

I'm on microgynon 30.

I always start a new strip on a Monday (I purposely chose to when I first started taking it because it seemed easiest, first day of the week and that).
So my pill free week was obviously Monday to Sunday. When I used to take it 'properly', as in 3 weeks pill then 1 week break for my withdrawal bleed, my bleed usually started on the Friday, so day 5. Saturdays and Sunday's so days 6 and 7 were when most of the bleeding happened, then on the Monday and Tuesday of the following week it stopped and was always completely finished by the Wednesday. (Nothing ever happened on days 1-4 of the pill free week. And I started the new strip on the Monday like it says to even if the bleed is still happening).

However now I take my pills back to back, without my week break. I do this for 6 months. So I take 6 strips in a row without a break. Then I have a break for 1 week, when I have my withdrawal bleed. Then I start again for 6 months. So I only have 2 bleeds a year, or a bleed every 6 months, as the months do not follow the calendar January to December.
It's brilliant and doesn't impact on me at all.

And I know it’s not recommended and I AM NOT suggesting that anyone else does this or tries this, but it works perfect for me so I’ll stick with it.
