Hi
Does anyone use this? I'm sick if the pill. I've tried copper coil for a year and I flooded so much to the point of being anaemic. Also had unexplained brain fog and fainting. Mini pill tried for a year and half. Again a lot of mid cycle bleeding and complete loss of libido. Combined (currently on yasmin) loss of libido, slight frequent headaches. I've never tried Mirena but the hassle of literally begging professionals to take it out (as with copper one) scares me to be honest. Natural cycles - became pregnant despite only having sex on green days. Condoms ok, but don't love them. Husband is considering snip but until then? Struggling to find many recent reviews of this method. Thanks in advance

I don't know this one, but I think diaphragms and caps are a much underrated form of contraception.

You needs to be completely happy about the insertion process, but once you've got that cracked it's pretty straightforward.

Thanks for your reply!! I'm not squeamish and sometimes use a moon cup for periods. Don't mind fiddling about a bit with it whilst still on pill to check it stays in place etc.

I had a cap years ago. It was great.

I had a diaphragm years ago and it was great. V effective if you are careful but doesn't mix well with alcohol!

I used it for a couple of years before I had my first- it was 100% effective for me and I subsequently got pregnant on 1st month of trying 😅 so no fertility issues.

Why are these out of favour? I asked the nurse and got real push back and sales pitch for Mirena coil 🙄. I also use mooncup would be fine with this. When on pill killed my libido stone dead and two friends had to have operations as coil embedded in uterus

The alcohol thing isn't a problem as these days I don't drink much. If I'm pissed the last thing I want to do is have sex if I'm honest just sleep! I've just watched an instructional video on inserting the femcap. Video dated 2011 but looks like something from 90s!!!

I used one for years, 100% effective.
Only downside was disappearing to put it in before sex...
(Also infinitely better using a foam than gel.)
