How is everyone's mental state and PMT on this? I've had it in for 2 years now and just recently I have bad cramps, an emotional mess and fat! Anyone else like this?

I've also had it for two years but I was attributing the above to general misery about covid /rain/kids etc.

Mine migrated. Poked a hole in my uterus. Needed an operation under GA to get it out. Never again.

They'll never believe you. Tell you it's due to something else. I was in agony and they didn't believe me until I fainted from pain at work and was taken to hospital.

If you're within childbearing age, tell them you want it removed to TTC and they'll do it faster.

I loved mine. First went in in late 1993, have had a fresh one every whatever years since and the current one is doing excellent service as HRT. Sadly it's my last but I'm considering having it gold plated and mounted somewhere suitable.

Unreasonabubble · 17/02/2021 17:22

Gosh, it is so different for so many of us. I had it for 25 years and absolutely loved it.

Oscarbin · 17/02/2021 17:25

I have became quite hairy too! But I am 40

I’ve had Mirena for 19 years and currently still have one for HRT purposes. I’ve not had any major problems with mine, wish I’d got one years ago. I get it’s different for everyone. I had really bad period pains for years and since I had mine fitted after a few months of spotting I then never had another period, which was great. I was worried I might get spots as had had acne on mini pill but it didn’t happen with Mirena. I didn’t put on any weight with it. I struggled with weight with menopause but think that’s common. It doesn’t suit everyone though.

I love mine. I've found I gain weight easier now but that could just as well be age and diet. Bumpy few months at first with bleeding, one mega bleed, but then totally settled. No bleeding in over 3years now!

allthingsred · 04/04/2021 21:16

Had mine taken out in Dec after 11 yrs due to pelvic pain. Since then I had the crash but now my hormones are levelling out. I realise how much of a pain periods are & I'm useless at remembering to take my pill. So getting it back in asap
