Progesterone only pill, does it get better?

Had DC2 at the end of September. Lochia finished after 4/5 weeks and I started the progesterone only pill shortly after. It's been awful! Constantly spotting, bloated tummy, spotty face, every few days it feels like I'm about to start my period (cramps and crying!). I've been told that it takes about three months for side affects to disappear.

Tell me mumsnet, is it worth sticking with it?? Will a miracle happen or should I just ship to a different pill? Thoroughly fed up now and desperate to get back to normal!

Yes it got better for me. Took about 3 months for the continuous light period to stop & since then nothing. No periods, no pmt etc etc. I went on it to get rid of my period related migraines which were getting worse with age. No migraines since starting the mini pill 2 years ago Smile game changer! The doctor who originally prescribed it said that a third of women their periods carry on as normal, a third get lighter and a third have no more periods. However in my experience of friends who are on it, they haven’t had periods either. Worth persevering imo.

Thanks @Tronkmanton glad to hear it got better for you. Feeling very impatient to get back to some normality, but willing to stick it out if it's worth it in the long run! Smile
