I've been doing a lot of research into the contraceptive pill and it seems for the combined pill they all contain the same type of oestrogen (Ethinylestradiol) usually in 20/30 doses and the progesterone used varies. The % risk of blood clots changes with the different types of progesterone, therefore why do professionals say it is the oestrogen that causes the risk, when it is the same in all pills ?
My doctor said I had to think about coming off the combined pill soon because of the oestrogen (I know this is outdated advice if I am healthy) which got me wondering why and why are women given oestrogen for the Meno/peri if we are advised to come off it?
