Implant removal

Hi!
I just phoned my gp surgery to see if I can get my implant removed to ttc. They told me they aren’t doing this at the moment but that they have put me on the list to be contacted when they’re up and running again. I just wondered if anyone here has any idea of the time scale for this, or has anyone had an implant removed recently?
Thanks x

I had mine out on the 14th I think it was. Constant bleeding. Gp tried her very best to push another sort of contraception on me 😣

Hi Bubblemonkey, thanks for your reply. I am sorry you had problems with it. I’ve been lucky and don’t seem to have had many side effects from the implant but just want it out now. I know these are very strange times but I find it a bit unsettling that I haven’t got any control over this now and I’m just stuck with it when I don’t want it there. I am glad you managed to get yours out. Did you have to be quite persistent or did they take it out without much fuss?

Hi, know this is a slightly older post but do you still have it in? Mines in for the forseeable due to my gp's not doing it anymore. I've been told they can last up to 4 yrs, has anyone had any problems with it still being in?
I bled a lot about 2 weeks after it ran out.. Prior to this no bleeding really.

Hi! I'm also waiting for mine out, GP has said they can't currently remove as it's not emergency I've had it in for 3 years 4 months now and have been researching private clinics that will remove

I've been waiting for months now as I've been on the implant for 12 years now and want it removed so we can TTC but I've contacted private clinics /doctors NHS and nobody will remove it or even give you an idea as to when they will remove it , I'm nearly at the stage of having a go myself to remove it . Read an article that a woman removed hers with a sterile scalpel and tweezers and a tin of beans 😂
