Will I ever have a period again (depo)

It's been almost 5 months since my injection ran out still no period.

I've took 2 pregnancy tests both negative. I was only on depo for about a year. I have been on the depo before I had my 1st and I can't remember it taking so long.

Shall I ask a doctor?

I'm just becoming slightly worried

Hi,
I had the same issue years ago when I stopped having the injection. It took about 6 months for my periods to return and it was really worrying. I'd definitely go and see an understanding doctor, maybe they can do some hormone checks.

I've just finished reading a book called Period Repair Manual by Lara Briden which is amazing. She talks a lot about the effects of birth control and how we can help our bodies when we stop using them. I highly recommend reading it!

It can take 1 year or more for fertility to return after depo. Hopefully it's not as long for you

Took 12 months for mine to return.

Hi there, I was on the depo for just short of three years . It took 18 months to get my first period , I was all over the place . Will not be using again

Took me 8 months for mine to return.
I only had one injection because it made my hair fall out!

Thank you for all your replies. I had it before my first for well over 3 years and I just can't remember it taking this long to come back.

Think I may just call the doctor for re assurance I was trying to put off calling them at the moment. Never thought I would look forward to the day I had a period. Haha xx

Try going on to the pill for a couple of months. I've found it helped me to regulate after coming off the injection
