Yasmin? Gedarel?

I’ve been prescribed Gedarel but I don’t seem to be getting on with it. No idea why as I was on Marvelon for year before. I was thinking is switching to Yasmin but last night read some horror stories (including one women who went blind from taking it due to a blood clot!)

Does anyone have positive/negatives about these two pills? Should I just stay on the Gedarel?

Tia.

I was on Loestrin for years but it was discontinued last year so I was put on Gedarel in October. I'm not 100% happy on it. It can make me feel sick, i've been getting headaches a week or so before af is due. I have been putting on weight but this might not be due to the pill.
The last few months my periods have been heavier but sometimes shorter. When I was on Loestrin I finished my pack every month on a Monday and af would arrive that Thursday but on Gedarel I finish my pack on a Monday but af doesn't show up till the following Monday which I don't like.
I actually came on here to see if anyone had experience being on Gedarel so i'm glad I found this thread. Sorry my post isn't very positive, I haven't gotten pregnant on it if that helps lol. Ive ordered another 3 months and if im still not happy I might see if I can get a different one or come off it altogether to give my body a break as I've been on the pill for about 20 years.

Looking for advice please. Daughter age 14 has v heavy periods and finds them distressing. She is begging to be allowed to take pill like some of her school friends so as to avoid periods altogether. She has researched and found Yasmin. We also have phone consultation with GP this afternoon. I am worried that she should not be on the pill so young and for this reason. Any advice welcome!
