Think I've been given the wrong MAP

Had a condom malfunction on Friday night. Went to pharmacist and explained that I take St Johns Wort and would MAP work for me as i know that SJW interferes with the combined pill. She said i would need to take a stronger version and gave me Ellaone. I took it and later that day started cramping and bleeding. I was googling to see how common this is and found info on NHS site saying if you take SJW you should not use Ellaone but a double dose of Levonelle! Has anyone had experience of this? Is there any chance the pharmacist has some deeper knowledge that means she was right to give me that one or did she not know and just guess I'm going to try calling a sexual health clinic in the morning to see what they say. Just wondered if anyone on here has had any experience of SJW and MAP on here as I'm now freaking out. Also does anyone know if the cramping/bleeding is a good sign that it's doing what it's meant to do? Thanks

I had cramping / bleeding with the MAP. It’s a strong dose of hormones and it can cause your period to come early. It massively disrupts your cycle - that is one of the reasons why it works! Also don’t worry if you feel raging PMT like for a few days. It will pass.

Just an update for anyone who might be searching on this in future. I spoke to a doctor at the sexual health clinic this morning and they said that I should have been given a double dose of Levongestrel and not been given Ellaone. So just be aware of this if you are taking St Johns Wort! I now have to decide whether to have an emergency IUD fitted or just keep my fingers crossed.
