Where to get it removed?

Hello!
Just a quick question on where you got your implant removed.
My local GP doesn't remove the implant, usually I'd go to a GUM clinic where I got it 'put in' but they aren't open due to COVID-19.
It has already "ran out" in the sense that the date they gave me on the card.
Any ideas where I can get it removed? My GP didn't have any suggestions apart from the GUM clinic that is closed.

If it’s the one in your arm? My GP did mine, it’s the one that lasts 3years

I think I’ve seen they’re not removing/replacing these at all at the moment because they’re not considered essential (which is clearly crap)

Same for coils

Thanks for the advice.
I assume it's now just a 'rod' in my arm so hopefully not doing any harm?
I want it out ASAP but will just have to wait it out there's no where else that does it.

If you ensure that you are using protection the little plastic Rod is not harmful. Mine was 5 months over the replacement date and I was told that other than it being ineffective as a contraceptive it posed no physical harm.

The implant will still be effective but just slightly less than normal. Your options at the moment are to continue to rely for m it for contraception ; it is likely to be effective for up to 4 years or to use another contraceptive as well eg condom or pop from your doctor. Once covid situation has relaxed you can have it removed or replaced.
