Early bleeding

Hi, this is a bit of a long post but just wondering if anyone else has had the same situation and what you did.
I'm about 7 weeks pregnant but had bleeding last week for 5 days- not heavy but definitely bleeding rather than spotting. I didn't call go at the time as the nhs website said little could be done at this stage and unlikely to be scanned as it was so early on. I resigned myself to this being a miscarriage and tried to rest. Today I called the gp and spoke to a clinician. She said they wouldn't scan me now as I've stopped bleeding and they may not have done anyway given the current situation. So basically, I just wait. I'm not exactly sure what I am waiting for- more bleeding. I guess I thought I'd be able to have a miscarriage confirmed with a scan but that won't be happening. I probably should have asked more questions but now I'm not sure what to do. Do I retest in a couple of weeks and see if I am still pregnant? Or just go ahead to my booking appointment which is in another two weeks?

Sorry that you are going through this. I had a miscarriage last year at about 8 weeks pregnant. Started with light bleeding and progressed to heavier bleeding and then passing a fairly obvious embryo. Took about 4 days in total. I had light cramping that progressed to contraction like pain before passing the embryo. I had been scanned and they asked the bleeding started and they confirmed a slow heartbeat. They asked me to confirm the embryo was in tact and then to take further pregnancy tests - should get lighter and lighter with a negative test within 2 weeks.

Not sure if that helps, I know peoples experience will be different.

Also just noticed the date. Am sure you will be clearer by now. Hope things worked out for you.
