Contraception at 51

Recently had implant removed and had a period within a week. Doctor said I need to wait a few months to see if I am menopausal.
Friends are convinced I won't fall pregnant at my age but surely there is still a chance. It's not a risk I want to take. Anyone else my age with ideas please.

I'd use condoms or abstain to be safe ... I suppose it's unlikely but not impossible

My midwife had a menopause baby.

Use condoms.

It’s not a risk I’d be willing to take, I’m the same age as you. Very unlikely but not impossible. Condoms I guess? I’d be paying close attention to my body too, keeping a record of any sign of a cycle.

You need to wait until you know if you still have periods.

It's really quite unlikely you wouid conceive over 50, or carry the pregnancy to term. But it can and does happen. If you do not want it to happen, use contraception, until you have been period-free for a year

My great-grandmother got pregnant at 50, baby born shortly before her 51st birthday. I wouldn't take any chances.
