Mirena and sudden periods

Ok, I'll try and keep this brief. Had the coil fitted nearly three years ago. Had a bit of spotting but no period. It's been fab. Decided to try for a baby. Went to get it out and the nurse saw
My strings but couldn't get them. I've been referred to the hospital to get it out. Since then I seem to be having a very
Light period every month which seems to be getting worse every time. This started around October time. I saw the nurse back in August. My appointment is in a week. Does this sound like the coils moved or disappeared??

I wouldn't take the return of periods as a sign of anything in particular. I had a mirena fitted 2 years ago bled almost constantly for 3 months and have continued to have periods ever since. I'm sure they will be able give you more information at your appointment.
