Dh has agreed to this thankfully and the GP has referred him. Please could anyone tell me their partners' experiences? Was one day off work enough?

Depends on the job about a week unless it's very physical

fantango · 26/12/2019 11:03

A week?! He has a office job, he's sat down all day. Consultant said one day?!

My dh was only off for one day and he does a physically demanding job. He said there was more discomfort from the stitches than the actual op

sameasiteverwasantiques · 26/12/2019 11:14

My partner had 3 days off.

motherofmincepies · 26/12/2019 11:19

My DH has just had his initial appointment and the Dr said one week.

RogueV · 26/12/2019 11:35

Hubby had it on the Thursday afternoon, he was back working on Saturday. Light duties but was absolutely fine

Cupcakegirl13 · 26/12/2019 11:37

Husband had it done Friday back in Work Monday , he does a manual job.

dementedpixie · 26/12/2019 11:38

Think dh had his on a friday so he had the weekend to recover. You dont need a week. Remember close fitting pants for after.

dementedpixie · 26/12/2019 11:39

Dh didnt get stitches. He did bruise a little. Walked funny for a couple of days

dementedpixie · 26/12/2019 11:42

www.nhs.uk/conditions/contraception/vasectomy-male-sterilisation/ this says 1 or 2 days

DollyTots · 26/12/2019 11:43

My DH had the week off but he could've gone back after one day, the sticky tape on the hair of his legs hurt him more than anything!

shouldhavecalleditoatabix · 26/12/2019 11:44

Friend of mine said he wished he had heeded the warning to rest and not lift heavy things the day after it was done as he came out in massive bruising and delayed healing. Other than that he said it was fine. DP is booking appointment this week.

BoneyBackJefferson · 26/12/2019 11:45

anywhere from 1-2 days to long lasting/permanent pain.

Waitingforadulthood · 26/12/2019 12:16

Dh is a builder and needed three days off. Absolutely fine after that. It's been wonderful, the unexpected side effect of my not taking hormonal contraceptives is that it turns out I have a sex drive! Dh has never been happier BlushWinkShock
