Experiences after coil fitting , cramps etc

So I had a Mirena fitted yesterday .. my god I was not prepared for the pain and had awful awful craps for the evening yesterday but today they have subsided maybe one here and there but just like a regular period cramp. I can't help being completely paranoid that it's moved as painful as the cramps were they were reassuring 😅 Just wondering what other people's experiences are just want some reassurance that it's normal. I did feel for the strings couldn't feel them might have another go ?

Just had mine fitted and nothing so far, but i don't get period cramps and gave birth without pain relief thinking it didn't hurt - I figure I have no nerve endings down there! Bleeding stopped after 10 mins or so

I had my first fitted yesterday, was not expecting it to be so painful tbh....period like cramps in evening, this morning ok, now cramps are back... hoping they subside....
How long should they last for?

I couldn’t believe the pain of the cramps after the mirena! I didn’t find the insertion painful but then about 15 minutes later was sick and then was in agony for a couple of days. It did die down though but don’t go for long walks or anything for a week or so or it returns!

You're definitely normal OP! I had the same and it was horrible, but once it passed I was so happy I'd had it fitted

How long do the cramps last for?

They advise you might get cramps on and off for a few weeks after the worst of it lasted after my first day and after a week or two I was grand .

No cramps, period came on time but still going after 10 days (normal is 3 days for me) is this normal someone?

Had mine in under a GA

Felt like I was dying for at least 3 weeks

My cramps only lasted few days but now seem to be getting period early......? This is first one since the fitting, hopefully will be light and short....!

My first one is so far 3x as lo gbut lighter

Had mine in (the ridiculously named Kyleena) yesterday. It was mildly uncomfortable for 20 seconds. 1/2 day of cramping totally seen off by ibuprofen. I was so scared of having it done. It was literally nothing.

I think it must be very individual. My friend had no real issues either. I imagine parity had something to do with it. I've had 2, one very large-headed baby. I kissed him in thanks last night . I had mine in for mainly non-contraceptive reasons, although I do not want a midlife baby.
