Mirena Coil

I'm 52 and had a mirena fitted 6 weeks ago to help with heavy periods and pain. Been struggling ever since, period is lighter but has lasted for 10 days now. 10 days of really bad pain and it's totally upset my stomach. Any advice out there? how long is this likely to last? Had a scan and it's it the right place, want to persevere but really struggling......help!

Mine took about 3 months to settle but wouldn't even know it's there now. They are great in menopause if you need HRT as you don't need any progesterone supplements. I'd stick with it.
