Has anyone regretted sterilisation?

I’m booked in to see if I’m suitable for sterilisation. I’m 30 with a long term partner and two kids. 95% of me says I’m done due to a million reasons but I’m still worried I may regret it.

Has anyone had it done and wished they hadn’t?

I got sterilized when my second and last child was 1 year old.

I had severe HG I'm both pregnancies and my 2 children were 9 and 8 weeks premature.

I have autism and struggle enough and I didn't and couldn't go through any more physically or mentally.

I still don't want any more children. But I hate everyday that I don't have the option anymore.

Does the feeling ever get easier? How long have you been sterilised for? Was there any side effects for you?

I've been done for 3 years now. No side effects.

I feel like I need to stress that my desire for more children is non existent but I'm sad I don't have the option at least.

It's a bit like the lottery. You can't really truly fantasize about winning unless you buy a ticket.

As time goes on I try to look at it as my fertility is decreasing so much with age it doesn't really matter. If I did decide I wanted more in the future I'd probably be too old anyway.

Im 36.
