No period cramps

I’ve had a copper coil for the last two years and like clockwork I would start having mild/medium period cramps about a day or two before starting my period each month

Coil was removed 2 weeks ago and I was due my period yesterday.
I’ve had some spotting but absolutely no period cramps at all.

In fact it surprised me to see the spotting when I wiped as normally I would be well prepared with any bleeding due to cramps telling me it was coming.

Is it normal to find you don’t get period pains without a coil?
