Mini pill vs injection

Iv been put on the mini pill after having my baby who is now 11 weeks (because I'm breastfeeding) and it has brought me out in so many spots 😢 all over my face, neck and chest. I stopped taking it and they began to clear up. The doctor has since put me on a different brand to see if that would help but it is still having the same affect. The only other form of contractions I'd be happy with having is the injection but I don't want the same thing to happen. Has anyone had the same thing happen but found the injection was better and they didn't have any break outs with it?? X

Haven’t tried the injection but I had the implant after giving birth at the end of last year. Had it in 5 months with constant period so got it removed. Had a few months with no contraception to get my body back and had really bad acne.

Went on the mini pill a few months ago and it seems to have cleared up.

I think with the hormonal contraceptives it’s just luck of the draw as to how your body reacts.

Hope you find something that suits you, contraception is a nightmare.

I tried the injection this year and had constant bleeding for the 3 months.
I was bleeding 3 out of 4 weeks, it was awful.
Back on the pill now, still have the odd breakthrough bleed but feel more in control now.

If you want more children don't go on the injection as it can affect future fertility. Also weight gain and I was a complete hormonal wreck on it. It stopped my periods which was great for me, but it took 10 months after my last one ran out to start my periods again which were very erratic (I went over to copper coil as no longer wanted all the hormones, not wanting anymore children)

Similar. I can't take the normal pill due to migraines , mini pill turned me into a rage fulled hormonal mess and bled for two weeks (flooding a pad and tampon in under two hours). I was told the injection was similar to the mini pill and so am waiting for a gynae appt now for some scans and to discuss what if any contraception I can have

Thank you all. Think I may just ride this pill out until I stop breastfeeding then go back to the combined pill as I never had problems with that before I had the baby. Definitely don't want to be putting on weight as I have read that it's a side effect of the injection as I'm trying to loose weight at the moment.

Combined pill is considered ok from 6 weeks if breasrfeeding

Just watch out for effect on milk supply

DanielleJTG · 08/08/2019 18:00

The doctor said to me it wasn't an option as it would dry my milk up 😩
