Has anyone had this inserted by general anaesthetic? Both a gp and a gynaecologist after a colposcopy couldn't insert it. My cervix is very hostile!!! They recommended getting a general anaesthetic, I have no issue with being knocked out, I have before I just wondered if anyone has also gone this route?

Hi OP, I know they insert it under GA if they are knocking you out for other reasons e.g. surgery on that area so I'm sure they could do it for the purpose of inserting the coil. Good luck.

I had mine fitted under general last month. They were also performing a Hysteroscopy and removing polyps at the same time. I’m already trying to have mine removed. I’ve never had kids and the purpose of it was not as a contraception but more as a way of controlling my womb lining and periods and oh my days, the pain. I wish they’re told me before that if I’ve never had kids then it’d actually be more painful than what my periods were before. 😞
