Implant & period question!!!

I had the implant put in a week ago, my period was due 2 days after, but it never came. Would the implant of worked that quick? Or am I best doing a pregnancy test?!

Hi! I’m due to have the implant put in in a couple of weeks and I was told that if you change contraceptive methods you need to give it around a week to work, and a side effect of the implant is to have irregular/absent periods. X

I've had the implant for 6 years now and my periods stopped once it was put in. Occasionally had some spotting but no proper periods for years.
