Jaydess - 2 weeks on help needed!

Just looking for a bit of advice... I am 27, no children (not to say that we would like children in the future) and had the Jaydess coil fitted 2 weeks ago today. I was on the combined pil for 11 years and have recently struggled with a really low mood and generally constant PMS. Also worth mentioning the CP Cilest gave me constant thrush! I felt the lower hormone dose in Jaydess was a good option, I have to say 2 weeks on I was thinking there were no side affects, Ive felt great... untill about 3 days ago when my partner and I tried to have sex for the first time since the fitting, everything seemed OK... although afterwards I hard the worst stomach cramps and have been on a very heavy period ever since... Is this normal?? I have now been off the combined pill for a week too, as the doctor recommended I keep taking the pill for the first week after my coil fit so I didnt ovulate.
I did have my strings checked a week ago as I have had quite bad tummy cramps since the fitting and they said all was OK other than I had thrush (AGAIN) — This has been treated and all feels a little better. Other than the constant little stabs in my tummy and now this horribly heavy period, I am wondering whether I should see my GP? Any body else had this sort of experience? Friends keep saying it will settle... in a few months. I cant take this for months Ive never bled so badly! HELP! Any positive reactions to the IUD would be welcome :)
