Kyleena - Coil /IUD is this normal?!

Hi guys! Wondering if anyone can help, I had the coil fitted a week ago today. Procedure went swimmingly, started with cramps about half an hour after which I expected, and a bit of bleeding. I did have a smear at the same time too. Anyway, I’m still in pain!? If I do t take painkillers each day I’m suffering with cramps... not only in my tummy but down my thighs too. Also got lower back ache. Kinda feels like first day of my period but it’s not, and I’m not bleeding. Should I be worried or is this normal? Desperately hoping the coil works out for me!?

I am not an experienced coil user, I had mine fitted two weeks ago but have the exact same symptoms. About 10 days after having Jaydess fitted I have started the heaviest period. I really want to know whats going on and if this is normal! I would also like to hear some positive reviews of the coil too! really hoping this works for me too!

That’s interesting! I wonder if our symptoms are normal then!? Let me know if you end up going back to GPs about it.... fingers crossed for you, I haven’t got along with any other contraception so far so I really don’t know what I’ll do if his doesn’t work for me. Maybe I’ve over indulged, but last few days I’ve had a really hard bloated tummy too which isn’t really normal for me so I’m wondering if that’s related too :/

I had bloating, light bleeding and very severe cramps for the first two or three weeks then it completely settled down and I’ve not had a period since! It’s been two years now. I would say it sounds normal :)

Thank you so much that sounds like we might be on the right track with it! It’s the heavy bleeding that is so hard to get used too! Praying things settle as i am the same I can’t take the pill any more so hope this works! I chance of babies currently... best contraception out, no sex possible!
