Gp and birth control

I'm a 30 year old, married over a year, not yet ttc - but in our plans in the next year or 2!

Every time I visit the gp for any reason, he tries to convince me to have a coil fitted or have any form of birth control in fact - I've not taken any for about 5 years and just use condoms - when I was on bc, I suffered with severe migraines, anxiety, felt cloudy and unhappy, weight gain (and the list goes on)

Im very happy with my decision and that I know what's best for me!

My last visit to the gp on Friday for something completely unrelated - he brings it up again - says oh why aren't you on any birth control - explain my reasons & that's I will be trying for a baby in near future - he says - ohh but you are still so young ??? (I'm nearly 31!) he really tried to force it and tried to hand me leaflets etc again!!

Fed up of this - anyone know why they are always so keen to get us on some kind of BC?? I feel like a child every visit Hmm

I'm 30, two kids, on no BC and I feel 100% better than the hideous migraines that the combined pill gave. The mirena made me bleed incessantly for months on end.

I just point blank refuse.
