Coil due to expire. Do I get another one?

I'm 46 and have had a Mireya coil for almost 5 years. After the first few months of mood swings and spotting I've been delighted with about 4 years of no periods.

It needs to come out next month. I've been told if I have one to replace it, it can stay in for 10 years.

I'm not sure if this is a good thing to do. Will it impact on menopause (no symptoms yet). I'm also being daft thinking I'll never have a period again. I should be thinking hooray but I'm worried I'll 'miss out' somehow.

Does anyone have any thoughts or been through this themselves? Does it hurt more to have one replaced rather than just inserted.

You could still be able to get pregnant at 46.

Maybe have it replaced with a copper coil if you're worried about the effect on the menopause.
