I did this. I had 1 period at the start with mirena and then they stopped. I had to continue to take the mini pill for the first 7 days of the coil I think and then stopped it

Ah that sounds ok.
Did you not have periods either on your mini pill ?

How is the coil ? Have you found the coil ?

It was just the thought of bleeding was putting me off x

I was on cerazette (same as cerelle) and had no periods. Coil was fine and stopped them too. I did need to get it out under general anaesthetic though as the strings went awol and it couldn't be removed by the nurse or the gynae unit at the hospital

Yes i used to be on that one aswell. Ah no thats awful.

Have you had one put back in ? Why did you get it out ?

Im guna try it just because it has low hormones in it.

Once you dont have periods you can go back to having them can you hahaha x

Sorry it was supposed to say once you stop having periods you cant go back to having them. The thought of having them again freaks me out lol

I did this.

Have had the coil for six months now. Still having irregular bleeding / spotting now. I'm giving it another few months and if it doesn't settle I think I'll ask to have it removed.

dementedpixie · 07/03/2019 18:05

I got it removed because it expired after 5 years. I don't need anything now as dh had a vasectomy, so I've gone back to periods again

donsom · 07/03/2019 19:50

Ah so it seems after getting the new one it has gone all wrong then Sad

Its a shame after you had a good 5 year x

I've only every had 1 and had it for 5 years. They couldn't remove it when it expired due to the strings not being there. Once it was removed I didn't need anything else as dh got a vasectomy
