Morning after pill question

I took the morning after pill yesterday after having sex on New Years Eve. I am waiting for a scan to see where my coil is as it’s not where it should be so I should’ve used a condom but I totally forgot after a few drinks.

Now, the thing is I’ve been reading that the MAP doesn’t work if you have already ovulated which I did, on the 1st. Is this correct? I explained all of the above to my doctor who didn’t say anything.

I am totally paranoid about falling pregnant again as I was pregnant again 10 weeks after having my first child and it’s been tough. (they are 2 and 3 now)

I am in a similar position, stupidly had unprotected sex Christmas Day, I ovulated the day before (I know as I get terrible pains), got the morning after pill in Boxing Day. I got my period a few days ago but it’s much lighter than usual and I am in total panic. Looking online it says a lighter period can happen but it also says it can be a sign of pregnancy.

As far as I’m aware a pregnancy test could read as a false positive up to 14 days after taking the pill so for you it’s probably not worth testing yet. I’m petrified of testing as what happened Christmas Day was a one off (I’m not in a relationship).

I’m still so paranoid that I am pregnant. I’ve felt odd the last few days, thought my period was going to start but it hasn’t (due on tomorrow) Today my boobs are KILLING which was the giveaway sign when I was pregnant with DS. I’ve done tests but they are negative.

Will test again in a couple of days if period hasn’t arrived.

I tested this morning and it was negative, my period eventually started and was really heavy, it then stopped but I have pain on one side so I was worried that it may be an etopic so tested this morning as an ectopic should show as positive. I can now relax a little.

Good news that it’s not ectopic.

I’m worried that if I am pregnant it could be ectopic as the coil can increase the chances of it happening.

I know the MAP can fuck with your periods a lot so that’s probably what’s happened to us both!

It’s taught me a huge lesson to be more careful, I have taken it before but not had these kinds of problems. I will be talking to my gp about going back in the pill or injection.
