Life with the Mirena Coil..

Hi all,
I would like to know opinions of my situation regarding the Mirena Coil. Abit if background info I have tried most types of contraception including the copper coil, oral contra, natural planning etc this is my last hope so to speak.

I’ve had the mirena just over 8 months now, initially I had quite a lot of spotting which I anticipated and over the last few months I have had a monthly period. My issues are over the last 2/3 months I have had increasingly bad anxiety and generally feel really low/depressed in myself. I feel deflated and impatient especially with my 3 children. I usually cope very well and just get on with things but lately both home and work I’m feeling over whelmed and feel like I cannot cope!
My question is, is 8 months long enough for the coil to have settled properly? Or should I give it longer before I have it taken out? Does anyone recommend any supplements that might help balance me and ease these feelings?

I really don’t want it removed if I can help it but equally life is too short to feel like this day in and day out 😔 xx

Hi, I got mirena out wed and copper coil in inserted at the same time, I have had mirena in for 2 years and it took me this long to realise its not for me, everything you described, rage, anxiety, panic attacks, weight gain bloated, bleeding, everybody telling me I was cross,no interest to do basic house work, I took a career break at the same time to spend with my children and I was feeling stressed even though I had nothing to be stressed about, went to gynae, cried and explained how I was feeling, she said mirena may not agree, I felt an instant felling of relief that it was gone, will see how I go on copper, very sore today after procedure but went for a long walk yesterday which may not have helped. Good luck with your decision. Things affect is all in different ways. I am sorry that I have spent 2 years of my life feeling dreadful to me and family!
