Vasectomy vs copper coil

I'm currently pregnant on baby number 3 and due in a few months. This is our last baby so after 10 years of pull out method I've told DH we need to get contraception sorted. We've narrowed it down to a vasectomy for DH or the copper coil for me. My gynecologist suggested the copper coil over a vasectomy for DH as he said men can have chronic pain afterwards. DH is now suggesting I should get the coil for that reason whereas I'm arguing back saying I've done my bit. DH is also the one who is more adamant he doesn't want more children and always maintained 3 is perfect whereas I probably would have a 4th but am content with 3. Can I ask what's your experience with he copper coil and a vasectomy please? Any pros and cons?

The doctor is correct that the serious complications of vasectomy (ie those which last indefinitely or which require further surgery to correct) are 1:10. Though of course the very debilitating version of of PVPS is only one part of that figure. But if your DH decides against those odds, the. There isn't much you can do about it.

If you want to keep open the possibility of any further DC, then reversible contraception is the better option. Perhaps with surgery to remove fertility later down the line.
