Cerelle side effects

Hi so I've only just started taking Cerelle (mini pill) and a look at the side effects has me panicked. I have a huge fear of vomit and a common side effect is nausea. Has any one ever had this problem? How soon after taking a pill did it start?? Thanks

I took cerazette which has the same active ingredient. I didn't have nausea

I've been taking Cerelle for 2 or 3 years - used to take Microgynon (and tolerated it with no side effects at all) pre-kids but they won't let me have it now I'm over 35.

I've never had any nausea or vomiting, but the first 3 months were pretty dreadful - near constant breakthrough bleeding plus several severe migraines. It was very effective as a contraceptive as I spent most of the time either bleeding unpredictably or lying down in a darkened room wanting to cut my head off Grin.

However, the practice nurse persuaded me to persevere a little longer as it can take a while to settle down, and I'm really glad I did. The migraines have completely stopped, as have my periods - I haven't had one single bleed for the last 2.5 years. I've had other symptoms whatsoever. I just take a pill every day (there's no break as there is with combined pills) and that's that.

Ahh thank you that helps. Did you have migraines before you started?

No nausea here either and I started on it 9 years ago (with a years break). It's obviously good to be aware of potential side effects, but if you take them too seriously you'd never take any medication.

No nausea and I've never had periods on it either. and

It may be psychological but a when I come to the end of the pack I feel extremely tired. Just like I had when I had breakthrough periods on the combined pill.

I tried it and had no nausea :) I did however feel very, very anxious and have a lot of nighttime panic attacks so came off of it. I’m now on the patch which I really like.

Sorry, didn't see your reply, OP! Yes, I did have migraines before starting on Cerelle, although nowhere near as many as I had in the first few months. But they went away again after that, and I've probably only had one a year since then Smile I think some of these symptoms are just a hazard of hormonal contraception - it can take a while for your body to get used to it.

I felt really good on Cerelle. Unfortunately I bled constantly which was why I came off it.

I had no other side effects at all.
