Periods on mirena

Had it fitted a years ago in April. I have very light spotting every month. Last month I had nothing and this month it's slightly heavier and I've got slight tummy and back pain. Shouldn't it have all settled down by now rather than making a reappearance? Never been able to feel the strings and the nurse made an appointment with me when I had it fitted to go back to be checked and I turned up and she hadn't made the appointment.

I had mine fitted about 3 years ago - I've had about 3 periods since then!

@MilkTwoSugarsThanks so it's fairly normal to get a random one every now and again.

I think so - normally when you could most do without one Hmm

On the plus side it happens often enough that I can "pull a sickie" on DH & DS when I want an afternoon nap and they're none the wiser Grin

@MilkTwoSugarsThanks it's so strange as when I have spotting I don't have typical period symptoms. But this time I'm not sleeping, I'm aching, I'm stupidly tired! But yeah could do without one in this heat. I have a wedding on Saturday. So hope it's over with by then at least.

Could you be pregnant? Have you tested?

I say that as stupidly tired is when I know I'm pregnant. Also remember the coil isn't 100% safe,
