I'm looking to get the implant after years on the pill. I've read all the NHS info but there's nothing about how to actually get it. Will i be given it when i first make an appointment or will i have to go back? Just trying to mentally prepare!

I went to a sexual health clinic to get mine and from what I can remember i had an initial appointment and then had to return when my period started. They numb the area and then inject the implant.

Best bet it too call the GUM clinic or GP and ask for further details over the phone

Thank you! Appointments can be tough to get at my surgery, so I'll definitely call first now. Thanks for the advice.
