Mood swings

I've recently been prescribed the combination pill (rigevidon aka microgynon) by my GP to ease severe ovulation pains, heavy bleeds and PMS.

But one of the biggest issues I was having was mood swings around the time of my period and I'm finding that now (on my second cycle) I'm a thousand times worse than I was and not even at a specific time of the month, just a full time Hulk wannabe. I'm sure I had similar issues with microgynon in my teens (I had been on Mercilon for almost a decade before I stopped) but the doctors didn't seem too interested in my history/previous contraception and dismissed my concerns.

I'm aware that they usually say to try 3 cycles to allow your body time to adjust, etc but I really can't go on snapping at my partner or feeling crappy in general. (The pill has also had little effect on my other symptoms except no ovulation pain because no ovulation is occurring.) Is it likely to improve over the next two cycles or should I stop taking it/see a GP soon to discuss alternatives?
