Im a bit clueless. Felt the strings when the copper coil was first inserted and was shocked to discover that they were short but extremely sharp. I called the clinic and they said all was normal and they will soften.
Kept checking every month or two/three and still sharpish.
Last couple months im really unable to be sure that I can feel them. Im not sure if they are so soft that they're just now brushing against my finger and therefore im not sensing them or whether they've been pulled into the cervix.
I know its in there and its working as my periods changed dramatically with having it inserted and they are still the same. Also I haven't fallen pregnant despite being very fertile when not on contraception.
Any experience of threads softening so much so that its difficult to feel them.
