Anyone had the implant/Nexplanon?

I had the implant put in 6 days ago and had been feeling absolutely fine, a day of cramps and bloating and then absolutely nothing. Suddenly today, I'm feeling very nauseous, very dizzy (so much so that the room was spinning and I had to go lie down) and just feeling very out of it and hazy. Is it possible that I'm only getting side effects now, nearly a week after insertion?

I'm currently in the middle of exams and trying to look after my 3 month old so feeling so sick and unstable isn't ideal. Anyone else had this after getting Nexplanon? How long did it last?

Felt very hormonal after having it (especially the second one). When I spoke with the nurse about it I got told it can take up to three months to sort it self out.

How are you feeling now?

@3rdrockfromthesun

See I feel ok otherwise so thought I'd got lucky then today has just been awful! Been taking painkillers and lots of water and feeling a bit more stable and less nauseous but I have an exam tomorrow morning so a bit worried in case I start feeling ill again through the night or tomorrow!

Oh no, 3 months is a long time lol Sad

I'm on my fourth, just had it popped in a week ago. Bleeding a bit but I know it'll settle down soon and I won't have another period for a year or so. I love them, tend to lose weight in the first year, stable in the second, gain and bleed a lot in the third. Works out overall.

@JazzyJelly oooh i would love to lose some weight, fingers crossed! Haven't had any bleeding yet either but at this point I would rather that than the horrible nauseous feeling. So glad it works out for you!

I know. I had my last one removed after three months because I could not cope with the side effects and basically threatened self removal if it wasn't done...

Good luck for your exam

I had one for 9 years and it was great for me.
