What Percentage Of Condoms Split For You?!

I read another post where someone said they got pregnant after the condom split and it was the first time they'd had a condom split in 10 years!
DP and I used condoms for a while and I'd say at least 1 in 10 would split and I'm pretty sure they weren't put on wrong or anything.
If you've used condoms what percentage would you say split?

I’ve been using condoms for years. Only one split ever.

I think it’s happens once that I can recall in 10+ years of being sexually active.

Not a massive condom fan though so probably haven’t used them that often.

I'm shocked! Any ideas why condoms might be more likely to split!?

I think 2 maybe 3 times in the 15/20 years I used them.

Condoms dont split a little, once they go they go, like a baloon. So you have fair warning to get the MAP

I dont like cheap condoms they smell like washing up gloves. Maybe cheap or ill fitted split more? Out of date?

PinkHeart5914 · 21/03/2018 14:58

Me and dh used them for about 8 years before ttc and never had one split!

Surely if that many are splitting for you, it’s down to either human error or maybe very cheap condoms that are just crap

Arapaima · 21/03/2018 14:58

Is your partner squeezing the end to get all the air out? They split because of air trapped inside.

HeyRoly · 21/03/2018 14:58

Never happened to me.

Fingers crossed I haven't jinxed myself

Honestly, I think he main reason condoms fail is people not using them correctly. So if someone virtually always has a condom failure, I'd wonder what on earth they were doing wrong all the time.

ballerini · 21/03/2018 15:02

Just looked it up:
lack of lubrication/ friction
wrong size condom
putting it on correctly
contact with sharp things

Once, in over 25 years of usage.

ballerini · 21/03/2018 15:05

I think it is size. Whenever Ive had them from family planning centre when I went for the pill they give you a bag of all different sizes/kinds.

I'm 39 and it's the first time it's ever happened and it happen 3 days ago. Although we use a diaphragm too I've still taken the morning after pill more so because my partner was worried.
