I’ve had one of these for about 18 months and to say I hate it is an understatement. My periods are monthly, they’re heavy, they’re long, I’ve been bleeding a week now and it is still bright red.

Anyone else had this issue? When I called about changing the doctor put me on the pill for three months to see what that did! Answer? Nothing! It was fine when I was taking it but I’m right back to square one again. I’ve had clots and it’s just vile.

Is the Mirena any better? I am freaking miserable on this and am going to get it taken out as it’s ruining my sex life not making it any better!

Sorry this seems ranty but today I’m fed up. I never feel like my doctor wants to listen and I just want it done now.

Try to ring the doctors and they haven’t got bookable appointments till April so have to ring back in the morning.

This things is affecting my mental health quite badly - I’m still bleeding heavily and am completely fed up now. It wasn’t this bad when I was on nothing!!

I have a Mirena and barely have periods. I have slightly more PMT symptoms, but I didn’t really have any before so it’s not a big problem. If you’re this unhappy do get it taken out, we all react slightly differently to contraceptions though

I'd see if you can get an appointment at a family planning clinic to have it removed and swapped to a Mirena.

I’m going to try the doctors tomorrow but if not it’ll be family planning.

I am miserable. My periods are heavy and unpleasant and last ages. I also have one every 3-4 weeks. My sex life is suffering and I’m sick of thinking it’s finished only to carry on bleeding. It took three months for it to stop fully when I had it put in on the first place.

I think I’m going to insist someone sees me - I can’t cope with this. I’m actually trying not to cry right now - having done some reading online about how this has affected people I’m even more determined. I’ll happily try the Mirena but this is leaving me a complete mess.

I have the Jaydess coil too... with bloody (pardon the pun) non stop periods

Never wanted the Mirena but the docs now insist that's what I've got to have

Being a woman freaking sucks

I’m still going and it’s been 10 days. There’s less of it but still enough to need a pad in. I’m sick of it and getting a doctors appointment is a pain in the backside - they then say a doctor can ring me but I’m a teacher so I can’t just answer the phone as and when.

I am going to demand it is removed! It’s the worst thing ever isn’t it? They just don’t stop! And this is 18 months in so I’m not having this settling business as I’m halfway through its life now.

After trying to get a doctors appointment (what a fucking joke that is) I’ve got an appointment at family planning next week. I’m. Still. Bleeding.

My doctors surgery also informed me this morning that they don’t do that there anymore so I need to ring family planning anyway - no one told me that when I rang last week. Snotty witch on the phone informed me today.

I need to blog about this. My experience of this has been nothing short of fucking awful!!

I'd rather go family planning anyway. My first mirena coil fitted at the drs was horrendous.
Had it removed and a new one in at family planning and it was a breeze. Tiny bit of pain but that's all.
Maybe get your iron levels checked too.

fruityb · 19/03/2018 12:56

I’m going to get that done. I don’t think they appreciate how much of an impact this is having on me. I’m exhausted, irritable and just plain fed up!

I had the Jaydess coil fitted on Tuesday 18/12, I am suffering so bad. I am 25 I haven’t had a child so maybe this explains the pain. As on insertion I almost passed out and became a quivering wreck....

I’m hoping this eases off and during the day I’m okay, but late afternoon/ night time I experience great pain (extreme period pain) it literally takes my breathe away and makes me feel physically sick. I’m gutted it is before Xmas as I have to wait until new year to get it removed, it is becoming unbearable. My tummy is also swollen :-( can someone please reassure me that this is normal?
