Implanon - New instertion location

Hi!

Looking to see if anyone has experienced the same...

I've had the Implanon in for the last 6 years, had it changed 2 weeks ago to my 3rd and they advised that they are now being instructed by the manufacturer to change the insertion area from the tricep to bicep.

When I bend my arm in certain positions it feels like it is nipping the skin, briefly discussed with my Dr yesterday and she said it's due to the new location and 'should' bed in soon. Even carrying my bag on the crook of my arm with a fitted jacket on its aggravating it.

Has anyone experienced similar and did it sort itself out?

Yes I got one in at the end of January and while it was healing I had a nipping sensation as if it was going to pop out my skin when I moved my arm a certain way. I last had one fitted in 2013 so can't remember whether I had that sensation then or if it's just down the change of position. It took a lot longer to heal this time round but I don't feel anything from it at all now.

Thank you Whycantithinkofaname,

I don't think I had any pain after the initial healing of the previous 2 I've had in so this one worried me a little lol! Was just looking to hear if it will 'bed' into the skin like my Dr hoped or if I'd have to start looking for a new contraception! I'll give it a few months and hopefully the pain/nipping should subside. Smile

xx
