Mirena Coil Strings - is this normal???

I had the Mirena Coil about 6 weeks ago. This morning I've felt a bit uncomfortable, sort of like I've got a tampon in. Been to the loo and had a bit of a rummage and I can feel the Strings, they're so low theyre practically at the opening of my vagina.

I've tried to feel a bit further up but don't think I can feel the actual coil. My cervix feels closed and there's nothing noticeable hanging out.

Can I just push them back up and get them trimmed at my check up? Or is this more urgent?

I've called my GP but im away for the weekend at my parents, they're getting a clinician to call me back. The local GUM clinic has no appointments for 3 weeks!!

I was told not to push anything back in. The strings do get longer and shorter depending on where you are in your cycle. If you can’t feel the actual coil I would just make an appointment to get it checked and use condoms in the meantime. Hope this helps!
