Microgynon - Bleeding mid-cycle

Has any one else experienced bleeding mid-cycle on Microgynon? I've been back on it for 6 months now (after a 5 year break while pregnant/breastfeeding) and for the last 2 days have had period-like bleeding even though I am in the middle of a packet. I take it regularly and have never had problems before.

I have had this with pills before I ended up on microgynon 😁 however this was in early days.

When established I had mid cycle bleeding which my gp seemed dismissive of and eventually I had a swab done for infection which came back fine. It eventually turned out that the St. John’s wort I had been taking interferes with efficacy and is a sign it might not be working.

Have you had a tummy bug or forgotten to take any pills in the last couple of weeks?

I was on the pill for a long time and found I had the least problems with it if I took it at exactly the same time every day.

If it is nothing like that it might be worth getting checked out for infection or problems with an ectropion or something.

Haven't had a tummy bug or forgotten to take any, but over Christmas I was probably not taking it at a regular time due to routines being all over the place!
Will see what happens now I am back on track, I am due a smear test so will ask the nurse about it then.
