Noriday

Tell me everything. The good the bad and the ugly.

I can't take combined pills due to migraine aura (which is gutting because I love the regular pain free or non existent periods).

Mirena - bled for months on end
Cerazette - made me a psychobitch
Jab/implant - just no
Condoms - they irritate me, have tried different brands

Leaves me with only noriday.
Or abstinence.

Hi. I too am very limited but I have found Noriday to be the only thing which has ever worked ....at all. However I have only been on it for a month. I did have a fairly light 7day bleed about 16 days in but I think this might have been my period. Apart from that nothing. I had sore breasts for the first week but that is now gone. Have had a few headaches but they really aren’t that bad (I don’t get headaches when not on birth control). And not happening so much now. The only thing is nausea about an hour or two after I take it and it kind of lasts the rest of the night (I take it at 8pm). I want to give it more time and see if it settles because the dr did say to eat something when taking it and I’m probably not the best at this. I’ve also remembered to take it in the fairly tight window of time without any problems. I have tried 4different combined pills, two other pop, the implant, a diagram and the copper coil before this. This is the only thing which has allowed me to have a normal life and be on contraception at the same time. However every woman is so different and you can never tell how you are going to react based on another woman. Wish you the best of luck!

Also the copper coil does not contain any hormone so you might have a different reaction to and it could still be an option for you. I wouldn’t personally recommend at all because the pain was just unreal so I had it out. I also bed for the entire 5 and the dr was really worried about the heavy bleeding. Might worth just discussing with a dr though if you really are stuck and really need contraception

I had horrible mood swings with Noriday. I felt really unhappy, impatient and shouted a lot. I was fine as soon as I came off it.

I've had the norithisterone in a combined pill before - no periods at all for a year but I believe that was a higher dose of it. Noriday is a really low dose isn't it?

Had to look up what this is, but I think it's the same active ingredient as Micronor? Fab, was on it for... a couple of years? Regular periods without a pill-free week, skin was fine, mood was fine (came off Cerazette for mood reasons), the only hassle was remembering to take it (3h window) and the associated issues around time zones when I went on holiday. Looking forward to going back on it once baby comes in the new year!

The timing doesn't worry me as I've always been anal about taking any pill within the same half hour each day.

My concern is reacting the same as I did with other progesterone only things (mirena and cerazette) and bleeding incessantly.
