Cilest to desogestrel

Has anybody been in the same boat with the contraceptive pill-I’ve always taken the combined pill but have been through numerous types having had breakthrough bleeding. I’ve never been able to take packs back to back in order to stop bleeding and find they can really affect my moods.

I’ve just been the doctors and she’s prescribed me the desogestrel mini pill stating that periods may stop, become heavy, become light or irregular! 🤔 is anyone on this pill and how did/does it work for you?

I’m really not feeling the implant, injection or coil and wondering if this may be the saviour. Fingers crossed.

I swapped from cilest to desogestrel as GP wasn’t happy to continue prescribing the combined pill due to migraines.

It’s been fine - I’ve taken the packets back to back and not had a proper period for months, although I do get breakthrough bleeding if I miss a pill, even just one!

You need to take desogestrel every day as its a mini pill. I take cerazette and it stops my periods
