Mirena coil bit worried

Hi this is my 2nd mirena coil I had it inserted in June by my gyni doctor I always check for my threads every month even though I have no bleeding. However I checked my threads yesterday and can feel what feels like the tip of a pencil I'm now worried I phoned my gp who never got back to me should I go to the hospital even though I'm not getting any pain. I'm just so worried

I've never had one but a friend of mine did and it did fall down so she had I have it removed and another fitted.
