So I’ve had the Mirena coil for ten years, the first was removed 5 yrs ago and immediately replaced with another, which is very very close to the end of its life (due to be removed early jan)
My problem is this,, I missed a period last month,, I never miss periods, I have extras, never miss them.. I don’t generally keep track of my monthly cycle but realised I missed a period as I had something planned and knew I would be due on around that time.. a week or two after knowing I had missed a period I did a test, it was negative,, I figured I would come on soon after but 8 days later I still had not so I did another test and still it was negative.. (phew)
About 5 days after that I thought AF came as I started to bleed,, only it wasn’t a normal bleed, it was so so light, I didn’t even need to use a pad as it was only there when I wiped (sorry for tmi) it was very pink and not red, and it only lasted 48 hours, if that! Since I have had this “bleed” I have had tender breasts,, small cramps in my tummy and oh my gosh I’ve been emosh..
I’m thinking no I can’t be preggers (due to the Mirena) but it’s so close to the end of its life I’m really now starting to wonder.. two negative test results should put my mind at ease but they really have not.. can anybody give me some advice please??
Oh by the way,, I’m a 41 year old mother of two grown up children. X
