And it was OK! I felt very frightened beforehand but it hurt minimally. Not even cramping right now but maybe occasional ones. Hoping this contraception works out - I feel liberated to be hormone free!

I've had my copper coil for 2 years and no regrets at all. I had heavy periods for the first couple of months but no issues at all since. It's fab!

My first 2 periods were just waves of blood-sooo heavy.
But after that it was brilliant. Simple and best contraception I ever used.

I absolutely love the copper coil as contraception. I had my first at 20 (unsual apparently), had it removed when we decided to try and was pregnant a month later.

Had another as soon as sex (and therefore contraception was needed) was on the cards post birth.

Oh brill thanks for that! So just be aware the first couple of months could be a pain. After agonising over how an earth not to get pregnant, I am so pleased I went though with it. Spotting, obviously, but no pain and nothing too bad at all! Smile
