Four Types

Hello,

I've heard there are four types of progesterone only pill, apparently if one doesn't work for you, another will.

I have terrible mood swings on the combined pill so am hoping a p.o.p will work, ive had loestrin 20 before but I stopped taking it - I had very sore boobs and spotty skin, I didn't give it three months though.

Can anyone advise?

Thanks

Netdoctor says this:

In the UK, there are now 10 brands which could be available, depending on where you go for advice.

The desogestrel ('stronger') group:

Aizea
Cerazette
Cerelle
Nacrez
Desomono
Desorex
Zelleta.

The older ones:

Micronor (norethisterone)
Noriday (norethisterone)
Norgeston (levonorgestrel)

(That looks like 3 types to me as some have the same hormone in them)

Thank you for this,

The GP advised I go on the combined pill and see how it goes rather than pill hop.

If this doesn't work I will go on one of the above pills.
